National Research Council
The National Research Council (CNR) is the largest public research institution in Italy, counting for 110 Institutes structured in 11 thematic Departments and about 7000 employees. CNR was the highest italian ranked (22nd) organisation in the 2009 SCImago World Report and was 5th for number of contracts in the FP6.
Institute for Energetics and Interphases (IENI):
IENI, Institute for Energetics and Interphases, within the Department of Energy and Transports (DET), is a multi-disciplinar institute, with competences in Physiscs, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering. IENI headquarters are located in Padova with 4 Units in Genova, Milano, Lecco and Pavia. The Genova Unit, participating to this proposal, has about 30 employees and a number of associate scientists operating at the University of Genova.
Institute of Science and Technology for Ceramics (ISTEC):
ISTEC is the only institute of the Italian National Research Council especially devoted to the study of ceramic and ceramic-related materials. In particular, the research unit involved in the project, mainly deals with the study and optimization of those ceramic processes cheap and easily scalable (tape casting, screen printing, pressing) able to produce ceramic devices in an easy and environmental friendly way.
